Mazafati, often called Bam dates, is the soft grade buyers know by its dark color and moist shine. The flesh is thick. The fruit is shorter and rounder than Rabbi.
Packed Mazafati is aimed at shelves and food service. Private label is possible when artwork and the minimum run are agreed before packing starts. The fruit in the photograph is Mazafati, including a halved date so the texture is clear.
